Leadership

Jesus Ruled. Elder Led. Congregationally Accountable.

The term "elder" in the New Testament of the Bible is a word that is synonymous with "pastor" or "overseer".  At SCC, the elders ensure the overall health of the church with oversight of the vision, mission, values, and Biblical Doctrine.

Kevin King

Lead Pastor

Pastor Kevin came to SCC in 2023 following 32 years of pastoral ministry in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.  Kevin was raised in a Christian home in Orlando and nurtured at a dynamic Bible teaching church with a strong mission's focus.  It was in those settings he received the foundation for his faith.  At the age of twelve, Kevin accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  At the age of eighteen he felt God’s call upon his life for full-time pastoral ministry.  However, he fought that call and sought to find purpose and ministry in other forms of work.  This “running” led him to secure a number of college degrees and work in a variety of jobs.  In 1990 Kevin finally responded to God’s call and willingly entered full-time ministry.  He says, “I have been amazed how God could use an extremely shy teenager to fulfill His purposes.  It has been a great privilege to be used by God.  I look forward to the next chapter of life He has in store for me.”

Kevin’s desire is to help others grow in their walk of faith, through life-relevant preaching/teaching and leadership.  He is excited to be part of a church and ministry that has a vision to be something great for God.

Kevin and his wife, Susan, are blessed with three children and multiple grandchildren.  He is a die-hard Gator fan [you should see his office], enjoys doing home projects of all kinds, and spending time with his growing family.  His life verse is Psalm 18:32 – “It is God who gives me strength and makes my way perfect”.

David Belcik

Elder

David has been attending SCC since 2000 and became an elder in 2009. David has served in many different capacities over those years. Some of the highlights include leading high school youth, service on Council, Council Chairman for 3 years, teaching many adult classes, leading men’s discipleship, preaching a handful of times, and participating in men’s ministry.

David accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 1979 and has been trying to understand and apply the Word of God to his life ever since. As a church, we seek to help people draw closer to a relationship with Christ or to go one step deeper in their walk with Him.

David is married to Tracy for 40 years and they have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.
